The Resource Center for Rehabilitation and Development (RCRD) is a non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit civil society organization (CSO) established in 1997 and officially registered in 1999 under Nepal's Institution Registration Act. As a disability-specific resource center, RCRD is dedicated to rehabilitation, disability inclusion, awareness, capacity building, advocacy, and inclusive education.
At RCRD, our mission is to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to all rights, services and opportunities. For this we work with persons with disabilities, their organizations, local government agencies and other disability related stakeholders. We basically promote inclusive education, assistive devices, community-based comprehensive rehabilitation services, disability inclusion in local policies and programs, building community-based support systems and so on. We empower persons with disabilities and their families to participate meaningfully in community and family life. Guided by a commitment to human rights and dignity, RCRD collaborates with government bodies, national and international NGOs, and organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) to build inclusive and sustainable communities. We supply disability specific resources through, training and workshops, research and studies, IEC materials (Information, Education, and Communication) and conducting knowledge sharing and dissemination sessions among public. Our resources are designed for persons with disabilities, their organizations, government institutions, and other stakeholders to promote disability rights at local, provincial, and federal levels.
